Luggage allowances

When preparing for your safari adventure, it’s important to be aware of the luggage limitations to ensure comfort, safety, and convenience for everyone traveling. Each 4WD safari vehicle or minibus accommodates a maximum of six guests, with every traveler guaranteed a window seat for the best possible game-viewing experience.

Luggage allowances

Because of the limited space inside the vehicle, luggage capacity can be restricted. For this reason, we kindly ask all guests to bring only one main piece of luggage and to use a soft-sided bag rather than a hard suitcase. Soft bags are easier to store and pack efficiently within the safari vehicle, helping to keep the journey comfortable for all passengers.

If your safari itinerary includes travel by light aircraft, please be aware that strict luggage limits apply for safety reasons. The maximum luggage allowance on these flights is 15 kilograms per person, which includes both your checked and hand luggage. Again, soft bags are strongly recommended, and in many cases, they are a requirement. These smaller aircraft have limited cargo space and specific weight restrictions, so keeping your luggage light and flexible ensures a smoother experience for everyone on board.

For travelers who may be carrying more luggage than is needed for the safari portion of their trip, we offer complimentary luggage storage. This service is especially convenient for guests arriving from or continuing to other destinations before or after their safari. Your additional bags can be safely stored and retrieved at your convenience, giving you peace of mind while you explore Tanzania’s national parks and reserves with only the essentials.

By following these luggage guidelines, you can travel comfortably and efficiently while maintaining safety and convenience for yourself and your fellow travelers. Keeping your luggage light not only simplifies logistics but also enhances your overall safari experience.
